OSRS Chambers of Xeric (CoX) Complete Guide

Chambers of Xeric (CoX), also known as Raids 1, is Old School RuneScape's first large-scale raid. Raid Rooms Overview

Scavengers

These rooms require you to kill scavenger beasts until they drop enough grubs to feed the hoppers. Stay in melee range and use Protect from Melee. If playing in a group, split into two sides for efficiency.

Shamans

Lizardmen Shamans are dangerous due to their poison splats and jumping attack. Always be aware of their positioning and never stand in their purple poison zones. In a group, assign roles for clearing adds quickly.

Vanguards

Three Vanguards must be killed simultaneously — if one dies far ahead of the others, it respawns. Coordinate with your team to bring all three to low health at the same time. Each Vanguard switches attack styles, so switch prayers accordingly.

Mystics

Skeletal Mystics attack with Magic and can also melee at close range. Use Protect from Magic and finish them quickly with high-DPS gear.

Tekton

Tekton is a melee-only boss that periodically retreats to his anvil to heal. Deal as much damage as possible before each retreat. Bring your best melee gear and DPS food. He is immune to ranged and magic.

Muttadiles

Two Muttadiles — a small one near a pool and a large one — must be killed. Focus the small one first, then destroy the meat tree before engaging the large Muttadile to prevent it from healing. Use ranged to keep distance.

Guardians

Rock Guardians require pickaxes to chip off their armor before they can take full damage. Keep pickaxes in your inventory and chip them regularly during the fight.

Ice Demon

The Ice Demon is weak to fire spells. Use Fire Surge or a Tome of Fire-powered weapon to deal maximum damage. Light the braziers in the room first to weaken it, then focus DPS.

Tightrope

A stealthy puzzle room requiring precise movement. Follow the safe path and click carefully to avoid falling and taking damage.

The Great Olm

The Great Olm is the final boss of Chambers of Xeric and has multiple phases and hands. Key mechanics include:

Left Hand (Magic): Attack with ranged to disable it. Watch for crystal healing and disable it.
Right Hand (Melee): Use magic to disable it. Avoid standing in melee range.
Head: Only vulnerable once both hands are disabled. Deal heavy damage here.
Special Attacks: Lightning portals, falling crystals, and cripple attacks require constant movement and awareness.
Final Phase: Olm becomes more aggressive. Focus DPS on the head after disabling hands for the kill.

Maximizing Points

CoX uses a points system to determine loot quality. Points are earned by dealing damage, healing teammates, and completing rooms efficiently. To maximize points:
