Fishing Training
Fishing offers a relaxing AFK experience with several paths to 99. Barbarian Fishing gives the fastest XP plus free Agility and Strength XP. Tempoross is a fun minigame alternative. Anglerfish and Dark Crabs offer profitable AFK options.
Methods
Levels 1-20: Shrimp → Trout
Fish shrimp at Lumbridge, switch to trout with a fly fishing rod at Barbarian Village.
Levels 20-58: Fly Fishing (Trout/Salmon)
XP Rate: 35-50K/hr
Drop fish as you catch. Fast early levels.
Levels 58-99: Barbarian Fishing (Fastest)
XP Rate: 50-110K/hr (with tick manipulation)
Fish Leaping Fish at Otto's Grotto. Drop everything. Gives passive Agility and Strength XP. Tick manipulation pushes XP rates to 110K+. The meta for fastest 99.
Levels 35-99: Tempoross (Fun Alternative)
XP Rate: 50-80K/hr
A Wintertodt-style fishing boss. Cook harpoonfish, load cannons, and fight the storm. Rewards include the Tackle Box, Fish Barrel, Spirit Angler outfit (2.5% XP bonus), and the Tiny Tempor pet.
Levels 82-99: Anglerfish (AFK + Profit)
XP Rate: 20-30K/hr
Profit: 300-500K GP/hr
Extremely AFK. Fish spots last a long time. Requires 100% Piscarilius favor.
Levels 85-99: Dark Crabs (Wilderness)
XP Rate: 30-40K/hr
Profit: 400-600K GP/hr
Best fishing profit but in the Wilderness. Bring minimal risk gear.
Important Unlocks
Angler Outfit: 2.5% XP bonus from Fishing Trawler minigame
Spirit Angler Outfit: Same bonus + acts as a Spirit Flakes container (from Tempoross)
Fish Barrel: Stores 28 extra fish (from Tempoross)
