Why Corrupted Gauntlet?

The Corrupted Gauntlet (CG) is one of the most rewarding solo activities in OSRS. It requires zero supplies (everything is gathered inside), drops the Enhanced Crystal Weapon Seed worth 100M+ for the Bow of Faerdhinen (Bowfa), and provides consistent GP through Crystal Shards, armor seeds, and alchables. It is considered the most important grind for Ironman accounts.

Requirements

Quest: Song of the Elves completed
Stats: 80+ in all combat styles (90+ highly recommended)
Normal Gauntlet: Learn here first before attempting Corrupted

The Prep Phase (First 7.5 Minutes)

You have 7.5 minutes to gather resources and craft gear before fighting the Hunllef boss:

Standard Prep Route

Gather 3 weapon frames from monsters or ground spawns
Collect resources: 2 Corrupted Ore, 2 Corrupted Bark, 2 Corrupted Linum, 2 Corrupted Bowstring
Kill Demi-Bosses: Kill 2 of the 3 demi-bosses (dragon, dark beast, bear) for T3 weapon upgrades
Collect fish: Gather 15-20 Paddlefish for food
Collect herbs + vials: Make 1-2 potions (Egniol potion restores prayer and run energy)
Craft T1 armor at minimum (T2 if you have time, T3 is ideal but hard to prep)

Gear Priority

T3 weapon (essential): Perfected Bow or Perfected Staff. Need weapon frame + demi-boss orb + Crystalline Bowstring/Orb
T1-T2 armor: T1 is fine for experienced players. T2 is safer and recommended while learning
Fish: 16-24 Paddlefish depending on armor tier

The Hunllef Boss Fight

The Crystalline Hunllef uses all three combat styles and has several deadly mechanics:

Core Mechanics

Style switching: Hunllef changes attack style every 4 attacks. You must switch your protection prayer
Weapon switching: You must switch weapons every 5 attacks. Using the same style too long reduces your damage
Floor tiles: Tiles change color. Standing on the wrong color deals damage. Stay on safe tiles
Tornadoes: Tornadoes chase you. Keep moving while attacking

Tips for Consistent Kills

Count the Hunllefs attacks. Switch prayer every 4 attacks. This is the most important skill
Switch weapons every 5 of YOUR attacks. Alternate between staff and bow
Stay calm during tornadoes. Move 1 tile at a time while maintaining DPS
Eat between Hunllef attacks. Dont eat while it is attacking or you might miss a prayer switch
Redemption prayer for the final hit can save food

Enhanced Crystal Weapon Seed: 1/400 (makes Bowfa, worth 100M+)
Crystal Armor Seed: 1/50 (need 3 for full armor set)
Crystal Shards: 5-9 per kill (used for armor charges)
Alchables and supplies: Consistent 150-200K per kill

GP/Hour

Average: 2-3M GP/hr (including Enhanced seed in rate)
Without Enhanced: 1-1.5M GP/hr from regular drops
Kill time: 8-12 minutes per run (experienced players)
