Why Farm Zulrah?

Zulrah has been one of the best money makers in OSRS since its release and it remains incredibly profitable in 2026. This solo boss drops Tanzanite Fang (Blowpipe), Magic Fang, Serpentine Visage, and a steady stream of Zulrah scales that provide consistent income every single kill.

With good gear and knowledge of the rotations, you can expect 2.5-very high GP/hour GP/hour at Zulrah.

Requirements

Quest: Regicide completed (for Zul-Andra teleport access)
Stats: 80+ Magic and Ranged (90+ highly recommended)
Prayer: 44+ (for Eagle Eye/Mystic Might, 74+ for Rigour)
Recommended: Lunar Diplomacy (for Vengeance)

The Four Rotations

Zulrah has four possible rotation patterns. Each rotation determines which combat style Zulrah uses and where it positions itself. Learning all four is essential for consistent kills.

Rotation 1 (Green Start)

Zulrah starts in green (ranged) form. This is the most common and easiest rotation to learn. Pray Ranged first, then swap to Magic when Zulrah turns blue.

Rotation 2 (Green Start - Alt)

Also starts green but follows a different pattern after the first phase. Key difference: Zulrah moves to the west side earlier. Watch for the second phase position to identify this rotation.

Rotation 3 (Red Start)

Starts in red (melee) form. You are safe at range distance. DPS with magic during melee phases. This rotation has more jad phases (style switching).

Rotation 4 (Red Start - Alt)

Also starts red but has a different pattern. The most annoying rotation due to multiple jad phases. Stay calm and flick prayers accurately.

Tips for Learning Rotations

Use the RuneLite Zulrah plugin which shows you the current rotation and where to stand
Focus on learning Rotation 1 first until you can do it without thinking
The first two phases identify which rotation you are on
During jad phases (green phase), watch Zulrahs head. Ranged attack = head lowers. Magic = head stays up.

Identify the rotation in the first 2 phases
Follow the rotation pattern switching gear and prayers at each phase
Use Vengeance before phases where Zulrah can hit you

Bring a Ring of suffering (i): Absorbs recoil damage and saves inventory space
Use Zul-andra teleports: Much faster banking than walking
Learn to prayer flick jad phases: This is the biggest skill check at Zulrah
Bring antivenom+: You will get venomed frequently
Stay calm during snakelings: They hit through prayer but recoil handles them
