Who is Nex?

Nex is one of the most powerful bosses in OSRS, locked behind the Frozen Door in the God Wars Dungeon. She drops Torva armor, the best-in-slot melee armor in the game, along with the Zaryte Crossbow and Ancient Godsword. With Torva pieces worth 50-80M each, Nex is one of the most profitable bosses to farm.

Requirements

Frozen Key: Assemble from 4 GWD boss minions (one from each faction)
70 Agility, Ranged, Hitpoints, Strength (GWD access)
Recommended: 90+ Ranged, 90+ Defence, 80+ Magic, Rigour prayer
Completion of the quest "The Frozen Door" miniquest

The Five Phases

Phase 1: Smoke

Nex uses magic and melee attacks. She drags players in with "There is no escape!" and can infect players with a virus that drains prayer if passed to teammates. Pray Magic. Kill Fumus (the Smoke mage) to advance.

Phase 2: Shadow

Shadow traps appear under players. Move off them immediately or take massive damage. Nex shoots ranged attacks. Pray Ranged. Kill Umbra to advance. Stay spread out to avoid stacking shadow traps.

Phase 3: Blood

The most dangerous phase for teams. Nex heals from her blood attacks. She uses Blood Sacrifice on a player, who must run away or heal Nex for a massive amount. Pray Magic. Do NOT attack Nex during Blood Siphon (she heals). Kill Cruor to advance.

Phase 4: Ice

Nex freezes players with Ice Prison. Break teammates out by clicking their ice prison. Containment causes ice attacks around the room. Pray Magic. Kill Glacies to advance.

Phase 5: Zaros

Nex activates Turmoil and Deflect curses. She hits hard and heals with Soul Split. This is a DPS race. Use special attacks and your strongest gear. Pray Magic and DPS as hard as possible.

Ranged (Primary)

Masori or Armadyl armor
Zaryte Crossbow or Twisted Bow
Ruby Dragon Bolts (e) + Diamond Dragon Bolts (e) switch
Necklace of Anguish, Avas Assembler
Venator or Archers ring (i)

Melee (For Minions)

Bandos or Torva for tanking
Bring a melee switch for faster minion kills if comfortable

Team Sizes

Mass (15-60+): Easy, low risk, lower GP/hr. Good for learning.
Small team (5-8): Better drops per person. Requires coordination.
Trio/Duo: Best GP/hr but very challenging. Need max gear and experience.
Solo: Possible but extremely difficult. Only for elite PvMers.

Zaryte Crossbow: ~30M GP
Ancient Godsword: ~15M GP
Nihil Horn: ~10M GP (makes Zaryte Vambraces)

Tips

Use Ruby bolts (e) for phases 1-4, switch to Diamond (e) for phase 5
Do NOT attack during Blood Siphon or you heal Nex
Stay spread out during Shadow phase to avoid stacking traps
Break teammates out of Ice Prison quickly
Save special attacks for Zaros phase where DPS matters most
