Demonic Gorillas

Demonic Gorillas are one of the most profitable Slayer monsters in OSRS. They drop Zenyte Shards (~12M each) used to create the best offensive jewelry in the game: Amulet of Torture, Necklace of Anguish, Tormented Bracelet, and Ring of Suffering.

Requirements

Quest: Monkey Madness 2
Combat: 85+ in melee and ranged
Slayer task: Black Demons or Demonic Gorillas (if unlocked)

Mechanics

Gorillas use all three combat styles and switch after 3 missed attacks:

Melee attack: Pray Melee. Attack with melee.
Ranged attack: Pray Ranged. Use ranged weapons.
Magic attack: Pray Magic. The least common style.

After 3 consecutive 0s with prayer up, the gorilla switches style. Watch for the animation change and switch your prayer immediately.

Boulder Attack

Gorillas throw boulders. Move 1 tile when you see the shadow on the ground.

Gear

Melee: Arclight (BIS against demons), Bandos, Defender
Ranged: Blowpipe or Bowfa switch, Anguish
Prayers: Quick prayers for fast switching

GP/Hour: 2-3M
Zenyte Shard: ~12M each (1/300)
Ballista pieces: Various prices (1/750 each)
Average kill: 30-50K in other drops

Tips

Arclight is BIS here. 70% accuracy and damage boost against demons. Use it over Whip.
Count to 3. After 3 protected hits, the gorilla switches. Prepare your prayer switch.
Dodge boulders. They hit 30+ and are easy to avoid once you watch for them.
Bring a bonecrusher. The bone drops give prayer restoration for longer trips.
