Kalphite Queen
The Kalphite Queen (KQ) is a two-phase boss in the Kalphite Hive. She drops the KQ Head (1/128), needed for the Desert Elite Diary and the Kalphite Slayer Helm recolor. While not the most profitable boss, she's essential for diary completions and has a cute pet (Kalphite Princess, 1/3000).
Two Phases
Phase 1: Melee Form
KQ is immune to melee. Use Ranged or Magic only. Pray Protect from Magic (she uses both melee and magic, but magic hits harder at distance). DPS her down to 0 HP to trigger Phase 2.
Phase 2: Ranged/Magic Form
KQ is now immune to Ranged and Magic. Switch to Melee only. Pray Protect from Magic. Crush weapons work best — use Godsword, Bludgeon, or Mace. DPS until dead.
Gear
- Phase 1: Ranged gear — Bowfa/Blowpipe, Armadyl/Blessed dhide
- Phase 2: Melee switch — Bandos, Crush weapon (Bludgeon/Godsword)
- Verac's set is a budget option that works in both phases
- Keris Partisan deals bonus damage to Kalphites
Getting There
Use the Fairy Ring code BIQ with 70 Agility shortcut, or rope down from the surface entrance. Having the Desert Elite Diary gives shortcut access directly to KQ's lair.
