Raid Gear Matters

Having the right gear for raids makes the difference between smooth completions and frustrating wipes. But you do not need max gear to start raiding. This guide shows you the minimum, mid-tier, and max setups for all three OSRS raids so you know exactly when you are ready.

Chambers of Xeric (CoX)

Minimum Gear (~30-50M)

Melee: Elite Void (melee helm), Dragon Hunter Lance or Abyssal Tentacle, Dragon Defender
Ranged: Elite Void (range helm), Toxic Blowpipe with Amethyst darts, Avas Assembler
Magic: Elite Void (mage helm), Trident of the Swamp, Book of Darkness
Shared: Barrows Gloves, Dragon boots, Berserker ring (i), Fury

Mid-Tier (~150-300M)

Melee: Bandos + DHL, Avernic Defender, Torture amulet, Prims
Ranged: Armadyl + Bowfa or Blowpipe, Anguish, Pegasians
Magic: Ahrims + Sang Staff, Occult, Tormented bracelet

Max (~1B+)

Melee: Torva, Scythe of Vitur, Infernal Cape, Ultor ring
Ranged: Masori, Twisted Bow, Venator ring
Magic: Ancestral, Kodai Wand + Sang Staff, Magus ring

Theatre of Blood (ToB)

Minimum Gear (~80-120M)

Melee: Bandos, Rapier or Blade of Saeldor, Avernic, Fire Cape, Torture
Ranged: Armadyl or Blessed dhide, Blowpipe with Dragon darts (for Verzik), Anguish
Magic: Ahrims, Sang Staff or Trident of the Swamp, Occult
Spec: BGS or DWH

Note: ToB has higher minimum gear requirements than CoX. You need solid DPS to not drag down your team.

Mid-Tier (~300-500M)

Melee: Bandos/Torva, Scythe of Vitur (big upgrade), Avernic, Torture, Prims
Ranged: Armadyl, Blowpipe + Bowfa switch, Anguish
Magic: Ancestral or Ahrims, Sang Staff, Tormented bracelet

Max (~1.5B+)

Melee: Torva, Scythe, Infernal Cape, Ultor ring, Avernic
Ranged: Masori, Twisted Bow (for Nylos/Verzik), Zaryte crossbow
Magic: Ancestral, Sang, Arcane, Magus ring

Tombs of Amascut (ToA)

Minimum Gear (~50-80M, Entry Mode)

Melee: Void or Bandos, Keris Partisan (free, great for ToA), Dragon Defender
Ranged: Blessed dhide, Blowpipe or Bowfa, Avas Assembler
Magic: Mystic or Ahrims, Trident of the Swamp
Spec: BGS or DWH

Note: ToA is the most accessible raid. Entry Mode (0-150 invocation) can be done with budget gear. Keris Partisan is amazing here because the Scarab bonus works on many ToA enemies.

Mid-Tier (~200-400M, Normal Mode 150-300)

Melee: Bandos, Osmumtens Fang (BIS for ToA), Avernic, Torture
Ranged: Armadyl, Bowfa with Crystal armor, Anguish
Magic: Ahrims, Sang Staff, Occult, Tormented bracelet

Max (~1B+, Expert Mode 400+)

Melee: Torva, Fang, Infernal Cape, Ultor ring
Ranged: Masori, Twisted Bow, Venator ring
Magic: Ancestral, Tumekens Shadow, Magus ring

Upgrade Priority for Raiders

If you are building toward raid gear, buy upgrades in this order for maximum impact:

Rigour prayer (Dexterous Scroll from CoX) — biggest ranged DPS increase
Osmumtens Fang — BIS melee for ToA and many bosses
Bowfa + Crystal armor — versatile ranged weapon, great everywhere
Torture + Anguish + Occult — offensive jewelry is huge DPS
Avernic Defender — noticeable melee DPS boost
Bandos armor — strength bonus over Void for slayer and casual raids
Sanguinesti Staff — healing mage weapon for sustain
Scythe of Vitur — massive DPS for ToB and large monsters
Twisted Bow — BIS for many bosses with high Magic level
