Raids are the pinnacle of OSRS PvM content, offering the best drops and most exciting gameplay. But getting started can feel impossible. What gear do you need? How do you find a team? Which raid should you learn first? This guide answers everything.

Which Raid to Learn First

Tombs of Amascut (Recommended First Raid)

ToA is the most beginner-friendly raid because of the invocation system. Start at 0 invocation (Entry Mode) with budget gear and gradually increase difficulty as you learn. You can solo or duo while learning.

Chambers of Xeric (Second)

CoX is the OG raid and has a great learning community. Join "We Do Raids" (WDR) Discord for learner-friendly teams. Team raids mean others can carry you while you learn.

Theatre of Blood (Third)

ToB has the steepest learning curve and highest gear requirements. Learn after you are comfortable with ToA and CoX.

Minimum Gear Requirements

For ToA Entry Mode (0-150 Invocation)

Void Knight armor OR Blessed dragonhide + Barrows
Keris Partisan (free from quest, amazing in ToA)
Blowpipe or Bowfa for ranged
Trident or Sang Staff for magic
BGS or DWH for spec
Total bank value: 30-50M minimum

For CoX

Elite Void with all helms
Dragon Hunter Lance or Abyssal Tentacle
Blowpipe with Adamant+ darts
Trident of the Swamp
78+ Herblore for Overloads
Total bank value: 50-80M minimum

How to Find Teams

We Do Raids (WDR) Discord: The largest OSRS raiding community. Has learner channels for all three raids.
Clan Chats: Join PvM clans that run learner raids regularly.
Friends and GIM groups: Learning with friends is the best experience.
MyPvM Raid Carries: Get carried through raids while learning mechanics and earning loot.

Tips for Your First Raids

Watch a guide first. YouTube guides for ToA Entry Mode take 15 minutes and save hours of wiping.
Tell your team you are learning. WDR teams expect learners. No one will flame you.
Start with low invocations. 0-50 invocation ToA is very forgiving.
Bring extra supplies. Better to have too much food than wipe to a lack of supplies.
Learn one role at a time. Focus on DPS first, learn runner/tank roles later.
