21 Years in the Making
In 2005, a group of brave adventurers first joined the Myreque, a band of freedom fighters opposing vampyre tyranny in Morytania. Now, 21 years later, the story reaches its epic conclusion with The Blood Moon Rises, a Grandmaster quest coming Summer 2026.
This is one of the most anticipated quests in OSRS history, and for good reason. The Myreque storyline is widely considered the best quest series in RuneScape, and this finale promises to deliver on two decades of buildup.
What We Know
The Story
You will rally the last remnants of the Myreque, uncover hidden secrets, and journey beyond the veil into Vampyrium, the home realm of the Vampyres. This is the first time OSRS players will visit another realm entirely, opening up massive lore possibilities.
The fate of both humans and vampyres will be decided once and for all. Expect a confrontation with Lord Drakan himself, one of the most powerful beings in Gielinor.
Requirements
A Night at the Theatre (completed)
Sins of the Father (completed)
All previous Myreque quests completed
High combat stats (Grandmaster difficulty)
Confirmed Rewards
Upgraded Blisterwood Flail: An enhanced version of the flail used against vampyres

The Myreque Quest Series
If you need to catch up, here is the complete quest chain in order:
In Search of the Myreque (2004)
In Aid of the Myreque (2005)
Darkness of Hallowvale (2006)
A Taste of Hope (2018)
Sins of the Father (2020)
A Night at the Theatre (2022, ToB miniquest)
The Blood Moon Rises (Summer 2026)
Each quest builds on the last, telling a story of resistance against an oppressive vampyre regime. If you have not done these quests yet, playing through them in order is one of the best experiences in OSRS.
Why This Quest Matters
Grandmaster quests in OSRS always come with significant rewards and challenging boss fights. The Sins of the Father finale against Vanstrom Klause was one of the most praised boss fights in the game. Blood Moon Rises promises to go even bigger with a confrontation against Drakan and a journey to an entirely new realm.
The new special attack weapon alone could shake up the PvM meta depending on its exact stats, and the Maggot King boss gives end-game players new repeatable content to farm.
How to Prepare
Complete all Myreque quests up to and including A Night at the Theatre
Get your combat stats up. Grandmaster quests have hard boss fights, expect 90+ combat stats as soft requirement
Play through the quest series for the story. Do not skip dialogue. The Blood Moon Rises will hit harder if you know the characters and their journey
Stock up on supplies for the quest fight. Brews, restores, and high-level food
