Wyrmscraig Lock In Poll Is Live: Mortimer, Golem Crafting and Goat Pits Get the Full Reveal
The player designed island won the early 2026 vote, and now Jagex have dropped the full activity breakdown plus the lock in poll. If you voted Wyrmscraig back in January, this is your moment to actually shape what gets built. Designed by community member ScreteMonge (Gnome), refined by the team, targeting summer 2026.
🏝️ Access and the Village of Auchrie
Wyrmscraig sits in the Unquiet Ocean and needs 62 Sailing to reach. The main settlement is Auchrie, a grim little village where the locals are not exactly thrilled to see outsiders. Some amenities open the moment you land, but the full island unlocks after completing the intro quest. You will also get a dedicated teleport so you are not sailing back and forth all the time.
📜 Fallen From Grace: New Experienced Quest
Short Experienced tier quest that introduces you to the island. Combat level requirement sits around 85-90 because there is a real fight at the end.
Requirements:
Completion of Pandemonium
62 Sailing, 60 Crafting, 53 Mining, 47 Runecraft
Rewards: 10k Crafting XP, 12.5k Sailing XP, 5k Mining XP, 5k Runecraft XP, access to the repeatable boss and Golem Crafting. Lore note: it links into the wider Vampyre storyline, so expect some Blood Moon Rises crossover.
⚔️ Repeatable Boss: Bigger Than Advertised
Gnome originally pitched this as a mini boss. The prototypes turned it into something Fire Cape tier instead. One kill for the quest is doable at 75 combat but you will burn most of your inventory. Efficient farming sits more comfortably at 80-95 combat.
Confirmed rewards include an updated sword design, a teleport back to the island and a pet. The Angelic Heart proposal from the original design is off the table for balance reasons (would either undercut Forgotten/Ancient Brews or step on the Imbued Heart). More reward details come in a follow up blog.
🗡️ Mortimer: A New Take on Slayer Masters
Mortimer is the big one. Instead of assigning a single task, he gives you a choice between 2 (eventually 3) tasks. The catch: skipping costs 100 Slayer Points and Turael cannot reset his assignments. You commit to what you pick.
Unlocked at 100 combat and 70 Slayer, or 99 Slayer.
The real magic is Modifiers. Once you finish enough tasks, bonuses start appearing on your assignments:
Modifier 1: task awards X Slayer Points.
Modifier 2: task quantity changed by X%.
Modifier 3: clue scroll rates +X% (unlocks at 25 tasks).
Modifier 4: +X% Slayer XP (unlocks at 50 tasks).
Modifier 5: +X% Superior spawn rate (unlocks at 75 tasks).
Third task choice unlocks at 100 tasks.
At least one task on the list always has a modifier, and other tasks have a 10% chance to get one too. Task list covers every Slayer creature with a Superior variant, including Smoke Devils, Abyssal Demons, Nechryaels, Hydras, Dark Beasts, Gargoyles, Wyrms and more. Lower level creatures like Banshees and Crawling Hands are in there too so you do not just farm the best stuff every time.
Duradel still wins for pure XP/hr and Konar still rules for Slayer Points. Mortimer fills the gap for people grinding specific uniques (Imbued Heart farmers will eat this up).
🪨 Golem Crafting: Glassblowing Alternative
Requires 53 Mining and 60 Crafting. A Crafting and Mining hybrid that uses Sunstone (mined on the island) and Hunter furs to build and clothe Golems. Each step gives XP.
The new mechanic is momentum. Mining a Sunstone rock successfully boosts your next mining roll within 5 ticks, scaling from 75% success at level 50 to 100% success at level 92. While momentum is active you also get a 20% chance for an extra Sunstone chunk. Expert Mining Gloves still work. If you want a chiller option, you can mine Sunstone Monoliths instead at a slower rate.
Clothing the Golem with Hunter furs is mandatory for the Crafting XP, by design. The team wants Hunter furs to actually be useful, so higher tier furs give more XP. Aimed to be a competitive alternative to Glassblowing in the meta.
🐐 Goat Hunting: Slightly Dark, Mostly XP
Requires 60 Hunter and completion of Sheep Herder. The premise: herd goats into a spike pit using a cattleprod, Telekinetic Grab or Dark Lure. Goats go in. You process them. You get Hunter XP.
Failure rate sits around 15% at level 60 Hunter. XP rates target just under Red and Black Salamanders: roughly 80k XP/hr at level 60, scaling to 140k XP/hr at level 80. Drops include Goat Fur (for Golem Crafting), Goat Horns and a pet called Mr McGroot.
🗳ﺏ Vote, Or Forever Hold Your Peace
The poll is live in game right now. Every section above has its own question, so you can approve the island and the boss but reject specific activities if something does not vibe. If you have opinions on Mortimer's task list or the momentum mechanic, this is the moment they matter.
Need a Hand With This?
Sailing power leveling: hit 62 Sailing before Wyrmscraig drops so you are not stuck behind a requirement on release day.
Slayer training: push 70 Slayer (or 99) and 100 combat to unlock Mortimer and the Imbued Heart grind.
