The 2026 Combat Modernisation

In March 2026, Jagex rolled out the Combat Style Modernisation update, which rebalanced damage across all combat styles including Necromancy. Attack, Strength, Ranged, and Magic now have a maximum level of 120, matching Necromancys cap. Base damage from levels was adjusted to be more impactful at earlier levels while slightly reducing the gap at max level.

This means new and mid-level players feel more powerful earlier, while end-game balance remains tight.

Necromancy: RS3s Best Addition

Released in August 2023, Necromancy is RuneScape 3s 29th skill and a standalone combat style. It sits outside the traditional combat triangle (melee, ranged, magic) and offers a completely unique playstyle:

Conjure the dead to fight alongside you
