Welcome to Members
Buying your first OSRS membership unlocks a massive amount of content: hundreds of quests, dozens of skills, entire continents to explore, and the best money-making methods in the game. It can be overwhelming. This guide tells you exactly what to do in your first hours, days, and weeks as a member.
First Hour: Essential Unlocks
1. Grab Your Graceful Outfit (Start Working Toward It)
Head to any Rooftop Agility course and start collecting Marks of Grace. The Graceful outfit reduces your weight and restores run energy faster, which is useful for literally everything in the game. You will need about 260 marks total. Start at the Canifis course (level 40 Agility) for best mark rates.
2. Start Fairy Tale Part 2
You only need to start this quest (not finish it) to unlock Fairy Rings, the best teleport network in OSRS. They connect to locations all over the map and save enormous travel time.
3. Do Waterfall Quest
If you have not done this already, it gives you level 30 Attack and Strength instantly with zero combat requirements. The single best quest for new players.
First Day: Priority Quests
Waterfall Quest (30 Attack + Strength)
Tree Gnome Village (Spirit Tree access)
The Grand Tree (Gnome Stronghold + more Attack XP)
Fight Arena (free Attack XP)
Witchs House (HP XP boost)
Dwarf Cannon (Cannon unlock for fast Slayer)
Plague City (Ardougne teleport)
Recruitment Drive (Initiate armor access)
First Week: Building Your Account
Start Slayer
Slayer is the best skill in members. It trains your combat while making money and unlocking boss content. Start with Turael for early tasks and work up to better Slayer Masters as your combat improves.
Set Up Passive Money Makers
Herb runs: Plant Ranarr or Toadflax every 80 minutes for easy GP
Birdhouse runs: Every 50 minutes for Hunter XP and bird nests
Manage Miscellania: After Throne of Miscellania quest, passive daily resources
Unlock Key Teleports
Fairy Rings (Fairy Tale Part 2 started)
Spirit Trees (Tree Gnome Village completed)
Minigame teleports (free teleports to various locations)
Jewelry teleports (Games necklace, Ring of dueling, Ring of wealth)
First Month Goals
Recipe for Disaster: Work toward Barrows Gloves. This is your number one goal.
Fire Cape: Get a Fire Cape from the Fight Caves. Huge melee upgrade.
Base 50 stats: Get all members skills to at least 50 for quest access.
Desert Treasure 1: Unlock Ancient Magicks.
Dragon Scimitar: Complete Monkey Madness 1 for this essential weapon.
Start farming: Never skip an herb or birdhouse run.
Common Mistakes New Members Make
Buying expensive gear too early: Focus on quests and unlocks before buying gear. Quests give free XP and items.
Skipping quests: Quests unlock the best content in OSRS. Do not just grind skills.
Not doing farm runs: Free passive money. Set a timer and never miss one.
Training inefficiently: Always quest first for XP, then train remaining levels.
Not using RuneLite: Download RuneLite from runelite.net. The Quest Helper plugin alone saves hours.
Members Skills to Start Training
Agility: Start immediately for Graceful and run energy
Slayer: Train alongside combat
Farming: Start herb runs ASAP for passive income
Hunter: Birdhouse runs from level 5
Herblore: Level with quest rewards and herb cleaning
Construction: Start saving for a Player Owned House (useful at 50+)
